Dad’s gs350 is in for a recall so we have a es350 as a loaner!

how are the seats and how does it handle bumps? Also, how is the interior noise under normal driving conditions?

Is it a nice Camry or something better altogether?

How is it on the inside? An ES seems like a great DD.

Is it as “I can fall asleep in 5 seconds smooth” as the ES300h loaner my mom had?

It ain’t bad but some of the interior materials could use less hard plastic but it is not by any means a bad place to be the ride is compliant and the seats are comfy

Think of it as a camry but better the ride is silky smooth and the seats are pretty comfy too. It’s a really nice camry in the end though.

It’s a very nice Avalon.

Oh? I was under the impression that the ES was based on the Camry. Also, I would think the Avalon was nicer than an ES.

I always thought it shared a platform with the Avalon? To wiki then!
The sixth-generation ES debuted in the first half of 2012 as a 2013 model, and features increased cabin dimensions due to a longer wheelbase which is shared with the full-size Toyota Avalon .
Welp, there you have it. Thanks Wikipedia.

ooooo well that’s interesting. Good to know!

I think it used to be based on the Camry, but like all models, it increased in size and so moved on up to sharing a platform the full-size Avalon.
Which really just goes to show important that badge is, because you could save thousands of dollars by just going with the Avalon and getting like 95% of the luxury.

It’s in regards to my dad’s 2012 S60. He has a few little things that he was wondering if they would be covered. He has the 5 year/60K Safe and Secure BTW.
First is the bottom of his steering wheel. He did a quick search and it seems like somewhat of a known issue. The metal has become warped, ridgy, and very very sharp in a few spaces; to the point that hand over hand steering is near impossible and it catches on pants.
Next is really weird. The piece of plastic around his trunk latch broke. The metal clip like snapped inside of it so it is stuck in the down position. Trunk seems to still work alright but something went very wrong with the trim.
Last one is kind of hard to see but he is getting some weird film like substance on the top of his driver side headlight. Even the texture feels kinda funny and its making a yellowy cloudy appearance. But only on driver side and only on top.
Tried to get a little closer pic but potato doesn’t want to pick it up.
Do you have any idea if this will be covered or fixed or what? Thanks again you know I appreciate it and owe you some cookies!

The steering wheel deco panels are quite common. They get like that, sharp, or just straight up start fading. That boot panel I haven’t seen but yes, both are covered easily under the 5/60. As for the headlights... unless they have condensation or the auto level/HID parts fail, sunburns are not covered under warranty

Nice Camry or nicest Camry?
Seriously, though, how different from a V6 Camry is it?
